Hello! I'm Leslie Banks, creator and owner of PixLife Photography.
I'm an MBA graduate, former corporate contract manager turned stay-at-home photo-mom. As a teen, I developed a passion for photography back in the days of darkrooms and pungent chemicals, but put the camera aside in college to pursue a business career. After the birth of my son, I left my career to live abroad, and along the way renewed my interest in photography. Day after day, I explored the streets of Europe with my camera and son, and decided to turn my hobby and passion into a second career.
In 2006, I began selling my stock photos online covering subject areas such as people, places, objects, food, and home interiors. My work has been published in places such as Ikea magazine, Forbes.com, About.com, HowStuffWorks.com, National Geographic Traveler, USNews.com, Wall Street Journal, as well as book covers, billboards, newspapers and advertisements. To date, I have sold over 100,000 photos! I currently have portfolios on iStockphoto, Shutterstock, Fotolia, Thinkstock, Dreamstime and 123RF under the contributor name 'eurobanks.'
In 2010, I launched PixLife Photography to serve local families and small businesses. As a stay-at-home mom, I understand the importance of value, quality and affordability, and have designed my service with that in mind. By streamlining my process to an all digital format, I am able to keep my prices low and quality high.
In 2012, I created imageSpeak, a company that designs photo based products for early childhood and special education. I've published two children's books, along with hundreds of products promoting speech and language development. Products are available for purchase on my website www.image-speak.com.
